A Message from Superintendent Chaidez |
Dear Oak Grove School District Families,
As we come to the close of January, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership, dedication, and support as we move through the second half of the school year. January Parent/Teacher Conferences have now underway, and I am grateful to our teachers, staff, families, and students for their time, collaboration, and commitment to student success. These conferences are a meaningful opportunity to strengthen home-school connections and ensure that every student is supported academically, socially, and emotionally. I would also like to recognize our staff for their professionalism and dedication during this busy time. Your efforts, flexibility, and care for our students do not go unnoticed and are deeply appreciated. As we soon move into February, I am encouraged by the progress we are making together and look forward to the continued growth, learning, and achievements ahead. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community and for your ongoing commitment to our students. Wishing you all a wonderful start to the new month. #BuildingFuturesTogether Warmest regards,Dr. ChaidezSuperintendentOak Grove School District |

As you know, the LCAP Survey is a critical component of our planning process, as it allows us to gather valuable feedback from our school communities and helps guide decisions that directly impact our students and families. |

OGSD Highlights |
On Thursday, January 15, 2026, Superintendent Dr. Chaidez hosted the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) Fine Dining Event, a special experience designed to celebrate and honor student leadership. The event, which was proudly brought back after a five-year hiatus, provided SSAC students with an opportunity to engage in a formal dining setting while building confidence, etiquette skills, and meaningful connections with district leadership.
Thank you Board President Herbert, Vice President Yue, Trustee Salazar Torres, all the Executive Team Members, and Lead Principals for being there where our Board Room was transformed into a fine dining restaurant. This memorable event was made possible through the collaborative planning, attention to detail, and dedicated efforts of the Child Nutrition Services team, led by CNS Manager Terri Anaya; our Sodexo consultant, Karis Gulizia; MOT Staff, and District Office volunteers. Their collective hard work ensured a welcoming, high-quality experience that reflected the district’s commitment to student voice, leadership development, and excellence. |

HEALTH ADVISORY: Childhood vaccine recommendations, measles update, and influenza informationChildhood and Adolescent Immunization ScheduleSituational Update The County of Santa Clara Public Health Department strongly supports the evidence-based childhood and adolescent immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and endorsed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and West Coast Health Alliance. Despite federal changes on January 5, 2026 overhauling the U.S. childhood immunization schedule, California’s recommended vaccine schedule remains unchanged, including immunization requirements for school and childcare entry. In September 2025, California state law was updated to ensure that our state’s immunization policies continue to align with evidence-based standards and the recommendations of professional medical groups like the AAP. Because you receive questions from families about conflicting national messages, clinicians play a crucial role in providing reassurance that vaccines remain recommended and covered by insurance in California. |
