The event packed the cafeteria with enthusiastic students and parents eager to learn about the opportunities awaiting them next year. High school counselors, department chairs, and student ambassadors from both North and South High Schools were present to answer questions and offer insights into the freshman experience.

"This night is crucial for helping students see that high school is about finding their own path," said Mr. Reynolds, the 8th-grade guidance counselor. "We want them to feel excited, not overwhelmed, by the choices in front of them." Presentations covered graduation requirements, the importance of GPA, and the wide array of elective courses available. The breakout sessions on Honors/AP tracks and Career and Technical Education (CTE) were particularly popular, showcasing pathways in engineering, culinary arts, and biomedical sciences.

Current high school sophomore, Jessica Thompson, shared advice with the middle schoolers: "Don't be afraid to try new things. High school is where I found my passion for speech and debate, something I never would have considered in 8th grade." Important Reminder: The online registration window for high school classes opens on March 15th and closes on March 31st. Parents and students should review the course catalog (available on the high school websites) together before making their final selections.
